A Gathering of Women Who Run With the Wolves
We meet fortnightly to dance, talk, meditate, read, sing, create, laugh, cry and share our journeys. The thread that runs though our gatherings is the book Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
We meet fortnightly on Mondays from 7 to 9:15pm in Hebden Bridge.
“The word “wild” here is not used in its modern pejorative sense, meaning out of control, but in its original sense, which means to live a natural life, one in which the creature, has innate integrity and healthy boundaries. The Wild Woman archetype is a feminine manifesto for all women regardless of age, race, creed or religion, to return to their …..roots. Through myth, fairy tale and an extended soul conversation calls back into life the wild neglected places of the feminine psyche.” Clarissa Pinkola Estes
We are currently reading The Red Shoes chapter
Dates for Spring-Summer 2018
April 30th, May 14th, June 4th, 11th, 25th, July 9th, 23rd.
We spend a long time with each story, giving plenty of space for reflection, comment, creative expression and exploration. I like to think that we try each story on like a second skin and walk around inside it for the time that we’re reading it.
The cost is £8 (£7 if on benefits) each session and I ask that you commit for a whole term. This can be paid fortnightly or as a one off payment at the start.
You can contact Zoe on 07938 790856 or firstname.lastname@example.org
“So what is the point of this reclamation and focus, this calling back of what has been lost, this running with the wolves? It is to go for the jugular, to get right down to the seed and to the bones of everything and anything in your life, because that’s where your pleasure is, that’s where your joy is, that’s where a woman’s Eden lies, that place where there is time and freedom to be, wander, wonder, write, sing, create, and not be afraid.”
